Kèr Tàby̼ub (/təb/ /j̼ub/ [shield; armor; apron] [custom]) is a subtropical Town located in the Gesiēinsu Region of the Tetbur Commune.
The name Kèr Tàby̼ub is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Tàby̼ub was founded by Pogolis Vaughan, who was culturaly Tauric.
Climate
Kèr Tàby̼ub has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Kèr Tàby̼ub receives an average of 277 cm/y (109 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Kèr Tàby̼ub covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 3364 m (11036 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Kèr Tàby̼ub was founded durring the early 12th century in spring of the year 1118, by Pogolis Vaughan. The establishment of Kèr Tàby̼ub was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Pogolis Vaughan electing to pay people to resettle in Kèr Tàby̼ub.
Kèr Tàby̼ub was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Tàby̼ub is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Kèr Tàby̼ub is is constructed arround a series of spacious cobblestone mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Kèr Tàby̼ub's somewhat suffishent has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.
A look around Kèr Tàby̼ub makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet town filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.
Civic Infrastructure
Kèr Tàby̼ub has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Kèr Tàby̼ub.
Kèr Tàby̼ub has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Kèr Tàby̼ub has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Kèr Tàby̼ub has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kèr Tàby̼ub's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Kèr Tàby̼ub has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Kèr Tàby̼ub has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
There’s a relatively new religion in Kèr Tàby̼ub which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.
Kèr Tàby̼ub's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is long in Kèr Tàby̼ub.
The Sandman near Kèr Tàby̼ub are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.
Kèr Tàby̼ub's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves destroying a prepared ritual vessel to channel Augury energies of tier 3 via throat singing.
Economy
The following information was obtained via the Imperial Census Bureau as part of the Eyom Economic Outreach Program.
